About Our Sustainability
Local Manufacturing
100% of our designing, cutting, and sewing is done in Los Angeles, California by workers paid fair wages in safe and healthy working conditions. Each piece is meticulously made by hand with the finest craftsmanship. Every person working on each garment is a true expert at their craft, being paid above living wage for their impeccable, quality work.
Reducing Waste
All of our products are made on demand in order to reduce waste and prevent the common practice in fashion of incinerating unsold clothing at the end of the season or they are one-of-a-kind. We also are working on a collection of handbags and accessories using the leftover pieces of fabric from where each garment was cut out of the whole piece of fabric in order to reduce waste further.
Fabric Innovation
We are always testing out innovative fabrications to find the most sustainable fabrics without ever sacrificing decadence or style from leather made from mushrooms or pineapples to wovens made from Abacá banana plants that requires no pesticides, fertilizer or extra water and helps with reforestation in the Philippine highlands.
Fabric Sustainability
We also use deadstock fabrics whenever possible which are small amounts of leftover fabrics from textile mills that usually end up in landfills. We rescue these deadstock fabrics and give them new life as we create our beautiful designs with them.
Animal Friendly Garments
We no longer use animal leather, fur, or feathers because we believe a garment that requires an animal to be killed or tortured is not worth making or wearing. We have found incredible materials in their place that feel just as special and high quality while being kind to our animal friends.
Earth-Minded Practices
One of the biggest contributors to waste and poisoning the earth is “fast fashion”. We do not do seasons or trends or “in this month and out the next”. We create high quality timeless pieces that are meant to be worn year after year styled in new ways, and meant to be wardrobe treasures that your daughter begs you to have one day.
